The Knowle West Media Centre Summer Programme returns for another year, offering two weeks of exciting media and arts activities!
Workshops will take place every weekday, beginning on Monday 2nd August and finishing on Thursday 12th August. On Friday 13th August there will be a day of celebration, where you can show what you've been working on.
The 8 workshops on offer are:
Giant Zoetrope: a zoetrope is a large cylinder with a series of images attached to its inner surface. When spun around, it produces an illusion of movement.
Digital Storytelling: transform urban myths into digital stories using animation and visual art.
Music: compose music tracks using Garageband software.
Art: an illustrator and animator will help you to bring out your artistic side and teach you how to manipulate your work using a computer.
Photography: produce CD covers and posters using Photoshop and receive training in digital photography from professionals.
ULK Film Workshops: using digital media, you can film the other workshops and create “how to” clips.
Performing Arts: take part in drama, circus and dance workshops and work together to produce a show to perform on the final day.
Nature’s Photograms (Thursday only): collect natural objects, flowers and branches and arrange them on a piece of photographic paper in a darkroom. The paper will expose, capturing the shadows of the objects in a unique natural artwork.
