Young people celebrate revamped Youth Bus!

Young people all over Bristol can now benefit from a fully refurbished, state of the art mobile youth club!

Thanks to a £7,000 grant from the Government, a state of the art Youth Bus has been relaunched in Bristol.

The bus has been repaired and re-sprayed and now boasts a new multi-media facility with a 42 inch digital LCD screen. It comes complete with a social area, home cinema system, computing and games area (complete with Nintendo Wiis!), smoothie maker and cooking area. It’s a great mobile youth club for teenagers all over Bristol.

If you’re interested in getting involved, the bus visits Bedminster on Monday nights from 7-9.30pm, Speedwell on Tuesday, Henleaze on Wednesday, Shirehampton on Thursday, Southmead and Meadowvale on Friday and Stockwood on Saturday.

Rudielee Cockram, 13, from Shirehampton said: “The new bus is brilliant. There is not much for young people to do in Shirehampton and I’ve been coming to the bus for about a year and a half. The revamped bus is really cool, there’s loads more to do on it, with the new TV, the Wii and the computers.”

If you are aged between 13 and 19, live in Bristol and would like to apply for funding for a project, email ywparticipation@bristol.gov.uk or visit www.bristol.gov.uk/ccm/content/Community-Living/Youth-Support/youth-opportunities-fund to download an application form.
