Bedminster details

Bedminster is home to many sports teams including Rugby Clubs, who play in the Bristol and Bedminster Cricket Club.

Bedminster is very big. It has lots of shops and parks especially Ashton Park where lots of things happen such as the balloon festival every year. We like playing football and through the detached youth workers we have regular activities. We mainly hangout in the parks where we meet our friends and youth workers. Some of us last year were involved in upgrading some of our parks and helped choose design and colour of our new youth shelters, upgrade of skate board area that was great fun, 20 of us received an accreditation. More recently we put together an application from the Youth Opportunities fund and got the money for further coaching, the! Girls last year got funding from the police to do cheerleading. We think Bedminster is a great place to live!

The Bedminster Down area has two main Youth Centres, Bedminster Down Girls and Young Women Centre. Both are voluntary organisations serving young people in the area. the boys club is open for at least one session per day, seven days a week and has a thriving membership. The girls and young women centre is open for five sessions a week and has a membership of almost 100 young women.
