Easton details

Easton is a vibrant multi-cultural area with a rich and a varied amount of shops. Culture is reflected in every corner of this area with a lot of Graffiti artists Banksy's artworks being displayed here. Easton has more street parties per year than anywhere else in Europe.

Why not go to one of the youth centres and check out the activities they have on offer, or go to the leisure centre for a swim, work out, or join in with one of their classes.

These are some of the comments we have had from young people in the Easton area over the last couple of months:

"Easton is alright, I like the fact that it's close to town"

"It's not that great round here, could do with better facilities"

"I love Easton, it's my home, and most of my family live here. My main concern is that there is not enough going on for youths over the weekend"

"I don't always feel safe in Easton, too much going down sometimes".

"We call it 'the endz'!"

"It's too busy on Stapleton road, otherwise its aiiight"

"I've been living here for about 3 years now and its not as bad as people make out".

'I sometimes feel unsafe on the streets' (female aged 15yrs)

'I never feel unsafe in Barton Hill as I have lived here all my life' (female aged 15yrs)

'At night I sometimes feel unsafe by the shops because it is quite dark and isolated'. (Male aged 12yrs)

'It's a very multicultural area' (female aged 13yrs)

'I like being involved in the Youth Forum and going to the different meetings' (male aged 13yrs)

' I think it is good to have a young persons sexual health drop in Barton Hill as I don't want to go to see the nurse in school'. (Female aged 14yrs)

'More activities/groups needed for girls as the youth centre is full of all boys' (from females aged 13yrs and 14yrs).
